Noticeboard

Dr Johnathan Cobb is retiring from work at Thurcroft Surgery.  His final day of work will be Wednesday 13th October.  He says 'I worked at Thurcroft for 27 years and I am sad to be going,  but we are all getting older and it is time to let the next generation take over.  I have been witness to significant change in this practice and I sincerely hope that the practice has benefitted from my involvement.  I have every confidence in the team of doctors, nurses and the administrative team, and I know I leave you all in good hands.  It has been a privilege caring for the patients of Thurcroft, and I wish you all well.'

Out of Hours Appointments

Did you know, you can now book appointments with a GP during the week from 6:30pm to 8:00pm, Saturday's and Sunday's at one of the Rotherham Hubs.

If you wish to be seen at any of the Hubs (Dinnington, Broom Lane, Magna Surgery) please contact the surgery for a member of staff to book you into one of the available slots. When booking the appointment, a member of staff will ask you the following questions:

  • Reason for the appointment
  • Consent for 3rd party access to your clinical records (without this you will not be able to attend the HUBS).
  • Do you require a chaperone.
  • Is this an ongoing problem. (Please note the appointment won't be booked if it is an ongoing problem you are seeing the GP about).
  • Up to date contact telephone number.

Have you thought about applying for on line access?

This service allows you to:

  1. Book and cancel appointments with a GP
  2. Order repeat medication
  3. Access coded data held in your medical records.
  4. Access to your summary care records.

Applying could not be simpler, all you need to do is call into the Practice with Photo Identification and complete an on line access form. Once completed, you will be posted with a user name and password. You can access via this website for the above services.

Using this service allows you to book / cancel appointments and order repeat medication outside of surgery hours.  Therefore, allowing you to take control of your health needs.

On line access held by parents on behalf of their children ceases automatically when the child reaches the age of 13 and must be re-applied for by the child.

Very good service. The staff always know you names. I have a care plan in place. The receptionists are flexibly and always listen.  Can always get an appointment on the same day. The GPs are very pro-active working with my long-term condition.
